Retention

We love to see how happy our patients are when they see their new smiles. It really makes our job worthwhile.

We really want to help you keep your teeth straight. That’s why you must wear your retainers as instructed, or your teeth may move toward their original crooked positions.

What is retention?

Once your braces have been removed, you’ll enter the retention phase. This is when we ensure your newly straightened teeth stay straight.

What are retainers?

Removable Retainers are thin plastic aligners that patients wears at night to keep their teeth straight. They hold your teeth in their correct position.

Fixed retainers – these are small wires that are fitted to the back surface of your teeth to hold them in position.

How long do I need to wear a retainer?

Our specialist Orthodontists will advise you on how long you need to wear yours. It’s not uncommon to wear them for a number of years after treatment has finished. Some patients may need to use them permanently.
